Fantastic value. I had dinner with coworkers and we all ordered the prix fixe. On Wednesdays, prix fixe is only before 7pm. The prix fixe is a 3 course meal that costs 20 bucks. That is hard to beat especially in SF. They have an excellent wine selection too. To start, you can choose a soup or salad. My choices were tomato basil soup or mix greens salad. I chose the soup. The bread that was provided paired perfectly with it. For the main entree, it's chef's choice. What I received was a blackened filet of pacific snapper served with green peppercorn sauce paired with rice and veggies. It was delicious. For dessert, we got floating island, which is a torched merengue dollop on strawberry sauce, topped with toasted almonds and powdered sugar. The merengue has a fluffy marshmallow like texture and it was very fun to eat. Overall, this place is a gem. The plating is simple and the dishes tastes homely. The restaurant is small but the ambiance is nice and cozy. Definitely will come back.

If I were reviewing just the food, I would go for the 5*. But given this also involves service, I'm going with a 4* Ambiance is quite sweet and charming. Enjoyed the pillow like comfort of the bench seating. Food choices as follows: Calamari - de-lish, fresh and plentiful. The calamari rings were huge. Odd dipping sauce though, that did not make the dish. Missed "real tartar sauce". Spinach Salad w/poached pears (none in site); tons of bleu cheese chunks, pickled onions, super fresh. No candied walnuts - just walnuts. But still really good and healthy serving. I would order this again. Blackened Salmon was delicious. Really enjoyed the fresh mixed vegetables and plentiful serving of rice. Grilled trout also very good w/a Beurre Blanc sauce. Though there was barely any sauce, it was very good and again plentiful. I would also order this again. Where my guest and I were befuddled was the almost non-existent service by the male server. Not sure he is the owner, but he mostly seemed disturbed by our shear existence. He was abrupt, rude and just couldn't be bothered. We accidentally spilled one of our waters, we tried to mop it up with napkins and his response in a rather gruff voice "just leave it"! If I'm going for service, I would think twice about returning. But the food is very good, no cork fee on Wed., and the prices very, very reasonable for fresh seafood.

Everything about this place is fabulous. There's only one person serving and sometimes it can get overwhelming but they do a great job. Don't be shy to ask for something, especially if it gets busy. Small business need as much business as possible and so they try to make room for everyone to come in whether they have a reservation or not. The food is beautiful prepared and tastes amazing! The music sets a nice environment for a date or gathering with friends, or clients. I don't have anything bad to say about this gem.

Unassuming store front leads into a charming, cozy French inspired restaurant with fresh, lovely cuisine. We ordered the calamari and mussels to start which were both très bien. They have fresh daily fish selections that you can order cooked how you want. My husband ordered blackened red snapper with their green peppercorn sauce, daughter ordered seared salmon with beurre blanc (which wasn't as tasty as she thought it would be). Other daughter ordered the pan roasted chicken which was delicious. Vegetable sides could've been cooked a little more, but were nicely seasoned. Our server (owner?) was a French expat who was very engaging and attentive enough. Would like to go back to try the duck confit.

Came here with a group of friends and we had a prior reservation so we got seated right away! Good: - The pesto and bread here is AMAZING - so tasty - The shrimp risotto was great, I loved how large it was and it also tasted great, I was savoring each morsel - Really sweet apple tartine - so good with the ice cream though - Nice ambiance for catching up - a little bit dimmer on the inside Bad: - Service was a bit hard to reach and it was hard to flag people down - They never brought us an extra basket of food Overall really enjoyed my meal here and would recommend it! Not too busy on a Thursday afternoon either.

What a perfect dinner. We reserved a table for 8 to celebrate my sister's nursing school graduation and Alamo made it so easy and smooth. The restaurant is cute and classy and is the kind of place you go for high quality food at a good price and feels cozy and intimate. I cannot say enough good things about the service. Our server was absolutely phenomenal. She took care of the entire restaurant and was so incredibly diligent about ensuring we always had water, bread, and anything else. I was highly impressed with everything, from the setting, to the food, and service. It was perfect for a family dinner. Everyone found something they loved and raved about afterword. We were in a seafood mood and Alamo hit the spot. I can't wait to go back and try everything!

What a find! This is off of the main streets and a place for locals. Definitely go here if you go see the painted ladies houses it's just around the corner. Simple menu everything French style. We had the sautéed sole with Buer blanc and a grilled salmon. Both came with vegetables and rice. Calamari appetizer was pretty good. You get a free dessert for checking in on Yelp. This place feels like a real French bistro. Good service and value. We had an appetizer, 2 fish dishes, 2 glasses of wine and a dessert for about $100 with tip. Can't beat that in San Francisco.
